How to watch movies and series on a Tesla
Two ways to watch movies and series on a Tesla: films from your own IPTV list in tescast, or streaming apps like Netflix in Tesla Theater. Which one fits?
Short answer: There are two ways to watch movies and series on a Tesla. If your own IPTV list has movies and series, they open in the IPTV tab of tescast and keep playing for passengers while the car moves. Netflix and similar apps run in Tesla Theater, parked only according to community sources. tescast has no film library of its own.
tescast is a web app that plays live TV, YouTube and your own IPTV list in the Tesla browser. It has no movie or series library of its own. Movies and series come from the IPTV list you add. This page explains which option works when.
Your options
| Option | What you get | While the car moves | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| tescast + your own IPTV list | Movies, series and live channels from your list | Plays, for passengers | tescast subscription + your list provider |
| tescast live TV | Series as Turkish channels air them | Plays, for passengers | tescast subscription |
| Tesla Theater (Netflix and others) | The streaming service's library | Parked only, according to community sources | Streaming subscription, Premium Connectivity if needed |

Does tescast have Netflix or Disney+?
No. For those services, use Tesla Theater. Community sources say Theater apps open only when the car is parked. We did not find an official Tesla page that states this.
Can passengers watch a movie on a road trip?
Yes. In tescast, IPTV movies and series keep playing when the car shifts into Drive. The driver should keep their eyes on the road. A movie runs for hours, so mind your data: 1080p uses about 2-3 GB an hour.
