M3U or Xtream?
| M3U link | Xtream (server, username, password) | |
|---|---|---|
| What you enter | One playlist link | Server, username, password |
| Live channels | Yes | Yes |
| Movies and series | If the list has them | If your provider offers them |
| Note | Links like get.php?username=...&password=... are read through the Xtream API, so movies and series come too | Categories come from the provider |
Your login and channel list are stored encrypted. They are deleted when you remove the list. The list refreshes in the background every 24 hours.
What does the IPTV tab show in the car?
- Live, Movies and Series tabs.
- A category list on the left, with a filter box for long lists.
- Search across channels, movies and series.
- Season and episode picker for series.
- Seeking forward and back in movies.
- Favorites: press and hold a live channel card.
There is no limit on the number of channels. Large lists load page by page.
Does IPTV keep playing while the car moves?
Yes. Live TV, YouTube and IPTV in tescast keep playing when the car shifts from Park to Drive. This is for passengers. The driver should keep their eyes on the road. More in watching YouTube on a Tesla while driving.
How the stream reaches the car
IPTV streams come through the tescast server, not straight from your provider. Formats the Tesla browser cannot play are converted on the server. One IPTV stream plays per account at a time. Opening a new channel stops the previous one, which also suits IPTV accounts that allow a single connection.
